Programme: B.E Computer Science and Engineering

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
  • PEO1: To ensure that the graduate(s) develops his/her ability to adapt new technological changes in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and acquires the ability to give solutions to local problems and the needs of global organizations.
  • PEO2: To ensure that the graduate(s) plays a significant role in the development of the organization(s) he/she works for, by applying his/her knowledge and experience in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, with technical creativity, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
  • PEO3: To ensure that the graduate(s) adheres to ethical practices in all aspects of his/her career, including higher education, research and entrepreneurship.
Program Outcomes (POs)
  • PO 1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems. (Cognitive Level:Apply)
  • PO 2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4) (Cognitive Level:Analyze)
  • PO 3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required. (WK5) (Cognitive Level: Evaluate/Create)
  • PO 4:Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions. (WK8).(Cognitive Level: Create)
  • PO 5:Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6) (Psychomotor: Mechanism, Complex Overt Response, Adaptation and Origination.
  • PO 6: The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment. (WK1, WK5, and WK7).
  • PO 7:Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws. (WK9)
  • PO 8: Individual and Collaborative Team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams
  • PO 9:Communication: Communicate effectively and inclusively within the engineering community and society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations considering cultural, language, and learning differences.
  • PO 10: Project Management and Finance: Apply knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision-making and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, and to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO 11: Life-Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability for i) independent and life-long learning ii) adaptability to new and emerging technologies and iii) critical thinking in the broadest context of technological change. (WK8)
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
  • PSO1: Develop and automate business solutions using cutting-edge technology by exhibiting design and programming expertise.
  • PSO2: Ability to design, implement, and develop applications and appraise environmental and social issues with ethics to manage different projects in inter-disciplinary fields.
  • PSO3: Strong theoretical foundation leading to innovative research, to provide elegant solutions to complex real-world problems.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
  • PEO1: To enable graduates to pursue research, or have a successful career in academia or industries associated with Computer Science and Engineering, or as entrepreneurs.
  • PEO2: To provide students with strong foundational concepts and also advanced techniques and tools in order to enable them to build solutions or systems of varying complexity.
  • PEO3: To prepare students to critically analyze existing literature in an area of specialization and ethically develop innovative and research-oriented methodologies to solve the problems identified.
Program Outcomes (POs)
  1. Ability to independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
  2. An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
  3. Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
  4. Efficiently design, build and develop system application software for distributed and centralized computing environments in varying domains and platforms.
  5. Design solutions for real world problems by communicating and effectively working with professionals in various engineering fields.
  6. Pursue research orientation for a lifelong professional development in computer and automation arenas.
