Programme: B.E Electronics and Communication Engineering

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)
  • To enable graduates to pursue research, or have a successful career in academia or industries associated with Electronics and Communication Engineering, or as entrepreneurs.
  • To provide students with strong foundational concepts and also advanced techniques and tools in order to enable them to build solutions or systems of varying complexity.
  • To prepare students to critically analyze existing literature in an area of specialization and ethically develop innovative and research oriented methodologies to solve the problems identified.
Program Outcomes (POs)
  • PO 1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop to the solution of complex engineering problems. (Cognitive Level:Apply)
  • PO 2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4) (Cognitive Level:Analyze)
  • PO 3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems/components/processes to meet identified needs with consideration for the public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and environment as required. (WK5) (Cognitive Level: Evaluate/Create)
  • PO 4:Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions. (WK8).(Cognitive Level: Create)
  • PO 5:Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6) (Psychomotor: Mechanism, Complex Overt Response, Adaptation and Origination.
  • PO 6: The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment. (WK1, WK5, and WK7).
  • PO 7:Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws. (WK9)
  • PO 8: Individual and Collaborative Team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams
  • PO 9:Communication: Communicate effectively and inclusively within the engineering community and society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations considering cultural, language, and learning differences.
  • PO 10: Project Management and Finance: Apply knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision-making and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, and to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO 11: Life-Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability for i) independent and life-long learning ii) adaptability to new and emerging technologies and iii) critical thinking in the broadest context of technological change. (WK8)
Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs)
  • To analyze, design and develop solutions by applying foundational concepts of electronics and communication engineering.
  • To apply design principles and best practices for developing quality products for scientific and business applications.
  • To adapt to emerging information and communication technologies (ICT) to innovate ideas and solutions to existing/novel problems.

Programme: M.E Communication Systems

Program Outcomes (POs)
  • PO1: Independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
  • PO2: Write and present substantial technical report/document.
  • PO3: Demonstrate a degree of mastery over the techniques in the area of communication system.
  • PO4: Analyze and design the subsystems in RF, signal processing, modern communication systems and networks.
  • PO5: Solve problems in communication system design using advanced hardware and software tools.
  • PO6: Measure electromagnetic interference and mitigate its effects.

Programme: M.E Medical Electronics

Program Outcomes (POs)
  • PO1: Independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
  • PO2: Write and present substantial technical report/document.
  • PO3: Demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.
  • PO4: Identify and solve Biomedical Engineering problems related to human anatomy that address contemporary issues within a global and societal context for the development of low cost indigenous biomedical devices.
  • PO5: Ability to design the techniques and tools of Medical Electronics Engineering to address the needs of technology in healthcare domain and understand the relevant technical, professional, and ethical issues.
  • PO6: Understand and develop the competence for continuous learning and innovation in the field of Medical Electronics.

Programme: M.E VLSI DESIGN

  • PO1: Independently carry out research/investigation and development work to solve practical problems.

  • PO3: Demonstrate a degree of mastery over the techniques in the area of analog and digital VLSI system design.
  • PO4: Analyze and design the subsystems in RF, signal processing, modern communication systems and networks.
  • PO5: Solve problems in analog and digital system design using advanced hardware and software tools.
  • PO6: Interact effectively with the technical experts in industry and society.
